I've pretty much finished my Momento book now of our fleeting trip to Tokyo in 2003. This is the cover image I've designed. It says, funnily enough, "Tokyo Japan 2003"
.
It does have some beautiful photos in it we took there. The cover one is my favourite. We were taking a walk at the Nezu Shrine in Ueno early on the first morning we were there and this very old man and his very well behaved little dog walked past to stop and pray at the graveyard beside. Everything about this photo is glorious. The light, the colours, the location, the faithful dog and the wonderful man. It must have been a ritual for him as he brought along some bread for the pigeons.
They are great these Momento books and not too expensive either considering the quality of them - they take a little while to put all together but a great keepsake indeedy.
Now I'm going to start the 2007 trip and basically make a book out of our Hanami Happiness blog...I can't believe its been nearly exactly a year since we were there.
Moonstitches has some great pre-cherry blossom photos on her blog (and check out the leaf quilt she's making too - its so awesome) as well as the JNTO countdown to this weekend's arrival of the cherry blossom in Tokyo! Its so exciting!
